There is a catch though, FreeBSD as is, does not allow you to do this without risking the integrity of the filesystems. I did create a fix for FreeBSD to use the abilities of the controller, and all works fine w/o any risk. The problem is that the installation is not easy as I didn't change any of the installation routines and some things need to be done manually. I will supply the FreeBSD development team with changes when I have some free time. Until then, I don't recommend playing with the partition table unless you like playing with fate. Make sure all the OS's running are using the same geometry.
