I don't know why so many people here on the net find the
new installation process easier than the old one.
With the old one, the disklabel process was hidden from
the user. With the new one you have to know where to
create a root filesystem, where /usr , switch
back and forth between various screens etc.
At least it took me MUCH longer to create a working
system than even on 386bsd 0.1.
But probably I'm too stupid to see that the new interface
is so easy. :-)
BTW, I find Linux complicated in this point, too.

My point is not bashing FreeBSD. It's a great OS and
it works fine. Kudos to those who actively support
FreeBSD!
