With the old one, the disklabel process was hidden from the user. With the new one you have to know where to create a root filesystem, where /usr , switch back and forth between various screens etc. At least it took me MUCH longer to create a working system than even on 386bsd 0.1. But probably I'm too stupid to see that the new interface is so easy. :-) BTW, I find Linux complicated in this point, too. My point is not bashing FreeBSD. It's a great OS and it works fine. Kudos to those who actively support FreeBSD! Robert
