But back to my question, what are the >differences now between NetBSD and FreeBSD? I think what Jordan meant, was that if the original poster didn't like the 2.0A install program trying to "hold his hand" or "simplify the install", that he'd be much happier with the NetBSD install as it is still low-level and grungy.. i.e. better have a pen/paper/calculator handy... Note that I run NetBSD, and the install is ok for me, but scares some of my friends.. :-) Rough differences: (if I'm misinformed, correct me!) NetBSD: Solid, multiplatform support, for the "hard core" server or development platform. Supports quite a few different platforms, something like 8 or 9. Before it offended anybody, we would have said something like this: "REAL MEN run NetBSD" :-) :-) FreeBSD: Solid i386 support. More "desktop" oriented feature set. (IMHO), like support for lots of audio cards, etc.. Still makes a solid i386 server platform though, check out ftp.cdrom.com if you don't believe it!
