I just built PPP 2.1.2b and installed it myself.  But of course that
doesn't help you during the Installation :-)

I haven't tried it with a dialup link, but it's working just fine on
a 115200 serial link to a LINUX box.

It requires a little tweaking to get it to build on FreeBSD 2.0.
If someone can tell me how to create a "patch file", I'll do it and
post it.
