I actually downloaded FreeBSD 2.0 Alpha completely onto my dos
partition, installed the minimal bsd on the harddrive through the
installation process, and then did a "mount_msdos".  After that I just
ran the expand procedure.  It worked beautifully...as usual great work
guys!

Just use mount_msdos.
