Linux isn't your problem, XFree is. Linux will run with just about any video card, because it is usually running in a text-only mode. Diamond didn't want to release programming specs for their cards. Rumor has it that Diamond was approched again, and the requirement of a non-disclosure agreement was a misunderstanding. I *think* there are plans to start writing Diamond drivers for XFree. Check the info XFree posts for more information.
