Message-ID: <1994Nov20.185210.115@kfdata.no> Organization: k fasteng data Date: Sun, 20 Nov 1994 18:52:10 GMT X-Newsreader: TIN [version 1.2 PL2] Lines: 36 I have tried (this weekend) to install FreeBSD alpha on a pentium p90 with pci ncr controller at work. What I did was: - Read the doc files - start the install process - My hd was correctlly detected with I trund off a dat streamer and the nec scsi cdrom drive. - I used fdisk and created a bootable partition on nr 1 (I also tried nr 3 later on with no success) - I then whent to disklabeling and I did the following created a root system on a:, that was 15MB of size created a swap system on b:, that was 32MB of size there was c and d, that I assume is for the total hd space onlly so I left them with the default vallus. I then created a /usr partition on e with the space left on my hd (about 950mb). I then write the data and quit. - Then I whent to procede option and the drive was formatted (I assume) The install program showd message(s) about things transferd to /mnt so I think it had contact. - When it was finished it told me to remove the floppy and hit enter to reboot the system so I did and it can not find a bootable OS on it. When I started up again looking at the disklabel info I see 3 partitions left as I wanted them. What have I done wrong? a: 15M / b: 32M swap and I can not remember what my /usr was labled I guess e? but I am not shure of this. Plase if someone can help me get this running I will be thankfull -hans
