I am trying to switch from Linux to FreeBSD 2.0 Release, and I am haivng
one hell of a time getting my hard drive to wrok. It is a Western Digital 540 meg
IDE drive. I have looked through the installation notes, and the troubleshooting
notes. Here is the error message:

wd0: can't handle 32 heads from partition table. (controller value 16 restored)
cannot mount root

(and then the system reboots in 15 seconds..)

Now, I have tried just about everything I can think of. I have made the initial
partition from OS/2, DOS, and the bootdisk. I made sure the geometry is 1048cyl,
16hds, 63secs in the BIOS, and I made sure the geometry in FDISK was set the
same way. The closest I have gotten to actually loading is NOT getting the first
error message, and just getting: cannot mount root.

Please any ideas or suggestions are welcome! Thanks in advance!
