For instance, /usr/include/stdio.h and /usr/include/g++/stdio.h seem to have some fundamental differences - functions that return long ints in one, return short ints in the other version, and so on... Do you, by any chance, still have some old header files lying around /usr/include that might be contaminating the newer ones? b) Neither cu nor tip like me anymore, even after I applied the patch to common_sources/conn.c... cu insists on bailing out with a read/write error or something to that effect, and tip doesn't seem to seize the port (/dev/com1) properly.. I retooled /etc/remote for tip, (I used to always use cu), but still no dice.. Using the serial ports can be kinda tricky. Read the ttys man page and consider adding the "softcar" and/or "local" flags to your modem line in /etc/ttys. You could also try building kermit 190 (which builds right out of the box). It might be more friendly about opening and using your ports. -- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Michael L.
