I have their JAWS video card, Adaptec 1542c, (no IDE drives, all SCSI) 36 M ram What happens is that the Dell goes through ITS boot process, the Adaptec card does it's thing (recognizes SCSI disk @ 0), then the floppy starts to boot, the cursor jumps about 1/3 of the screen, to the right, then <poof> reboot, and the whole thing starts over again. As I said, I have made multiple copies, paid heed to the README's and ROADMAPS etc. I'm the kind of person who blows their brains out before they go on the net, only to be told RTFM, so I've pretty much exausted everything. Since the Dell has no IDE drive, (the only thing slightly non-standard on this 'PC'), I have tried to flip all of the BIOS switches regarding auto-sensing hard-disks etc, but to no avail. I'm only a *BSD* newbie, I've hacked the same Dell, with NeXT STEP 486 (pre-betas), with no problem, NextStep on an 030 cube back to v 1.0, And macs when you developed them on Lisas. In the future, I was going to buy a 'grunge-486' machine, no bells or whistles, to run FreeBSD, but I really wanted to try to get it working on my development PC first. Please, any suggestions would be appreciated.
