As a result you have to be really careful with cables and termination (Which is what the other posters have said). The 1542B cards on the oher hand have line drivers that were made like old Schwinn Bicycles (e.g. build to go through a nuclear war and still work). Clean up your terminatiand cable lengths (3 Meters is the maximum from end to end) and see if this fixes the problem. Also contact Adaptec and see if they have any relief on the card.
