Does this mean you need 10 tapes (one for each distribution-- XFree86-3.1,bindist,compat1xdist,...)? Or can the distributions be put on one tape as successive tar files and then select /dev/nr?t? (no-rewind) as the device? Is there a way in the install to have it forget the media choice and reset it--i.e., suppose it took two tapes, could you put half on one tape and select /dev/nr?t? (no-rewind) for the first tar files, but then select /dev/r?t? (rewind) for the last tar file on the tape, etc. without having to <ESC><ESC> out to do the dirty work? BTW, 2.0R is really cool!! Lots of neat stuff in it, and a few surprises (like why did "which" disappear?). --alan -- Alan Lundin <aflundi@sandia.gov>
