I having a similar problem on an IBM PS/Value Point with an S3 card that
uses the 805 chipset on a VLB card.  In my case it's even worse, after the
screen goes blank, the entire system locks up, no keyboard input of any
kind, even CTRL-ALT-DEL works.  I have to power down to reboot.  I'm about
to try the generic SVGA driver and see if that works.
