So, your ISC machine should have 127.0.0.1 set to itself and your FreeBSD machine should have 127.0.0.1 set to itself (check out /etc/netstart) Basically, your ISC machine sounds like it's mis-configured and/or you're using a reserved address that shouldn't be used for generic networking.
