The 4.4Lite CD from WC doesn't contain a complete OS, hence the name 'Lite'.

If you want a fully functional operating system (binaries and all) that
runs on Intel machines (x86 and clones), check out FreeBSD from
ftp.FreeBSD.org:pub/FreeBSD, or if you want a version that runs on
multiple platforms check out NetBSD at sun-lamp.cs.berkeley.edu.
