Has anyone made either Mosaic or Netscape for NetBSD 1.0 and XFree86 3.1
   and made it publicly available?

The BSDI i386 binaries work fine for both Mosaic (available from
ftp.bsdi.com:/contrib/...) and Netscape (ftp.mcom.com:/netscape/unix/)
on NetBSD 1.0/i386.
