hi. i own a penitum 90 (soon to get a fixed chip f/intel) with a 1 gig
eIDE drive (western digital, i think) and a crappy NEC 2x CD (which isn't
really made by NEC). i would like to partition my drive and set up
FreeBSD while keeping my windoze crap (i'll probably replace that with
Warp asap). anyway, i need help. i've never partitioned a drive before
(i suppose i have to take off all data a want to save) and i have no idea
what software i need to do it (is fdisk that came with DOS ok?). also,
are there drivers for my drive in FreeBSD? or what about my video card,
a #9 GXE 64 Pro (PCI), any drivers for that in FreeBSD? i tried UMSDOS,
but it could figure out my drive (a 64 headed monster). btw, i have only
a working experience with unix in general, like i can compile and run
my c/fortran programs, kill processes, do mail, use vi, etc. but i've
never admin'd a site before...

if any of you kind souls would like to help me out, i'd appreciate it.
if you can answer any of my questions i've already asked, please do.

finally, i sent mail to orders@cdrom.com. i'd like to get FreeBSD on disc
if it makes it easier to install. i don't want to be i nthe middle of
installing and find out i forgot to grab some program...

finally, anyone living in the NY/NJ usa area who would be cool enough
to let me talk to them on the phone while i do this, lemme have your
number? thanks.

thanks a lot, guys (and girls, though i suspect there are few of you)
