I was confused about this as well, but after talking with Rod I now understand it. Basically, the PCI bridge on the bus can act as a device, but the current FreeBSD PCI code doesn't do anything with it. So, doing anything special with the PCI/VESA bridge isn't supported, but the standard feature of the bridge is supported. >If I use a AHA-2940 (or a PCI graphic card), will the set MB + AHA-2940 be >supported ? The 2940 is not yet supported. The code for the card is there, but the probe routines to detect it have not been written yet.
