Huh? The drivers have no additional functionality in 2.0 that didn't exist in 1.1.5. The multiple CPU functionality was added in 1.1 I believe. The kernel support for multiple CPU existed in 1.x, though it was not as refined as the support in 4.4 lite, but that should not affect the stability of the machine on a x86 system. >my system is simple: >386 25MHz >Adaptec 1542B with sd0 and st0 >wd2 > > I configured the kernel to only support 386 CPU's which seems to have > eliminated the SCSI problems, except for tape access if loaded before > booting. I think it happens to be luck that it's working. There are some problems with the ft (floppy tape) device driver that may be affecting the others drivers. The newer boot floppies disable that driver unless specifically configured to avoid this problem.
