This is usually the case for PCI chips that are initialized by the BIOS, since your system couldn't have loaded the kernel else ... Ie. its in general nothing to worry about! If your system doesn't boot correctly and you suppose it might be related to some PCI peripheral, then send mail to my address. If you have detailed data on PCI chip sets other than the Intel Saturn and Mercury and make them available to me, then I'll be happy to add support for verbose boot messages describing the currently active chip set parameters. This may help debug in case the system doesn't work under FreeBSD because of chip set problems ...
