I've installed my 36 disks of the free BSD3.6 on my pc(486dlc) which
has an IDE drive. There were minor problems at the end of the
installation, but the system was all right. I tried to install the
same system on 386SX (Megatrend BIOS dated 05/05/91) with ESDI drive.
The system hung when I booted up with the boot disk with DIST.FS on
and the A: drive light was on forever. I've tried to install the
system on a 286pc which I knew that won't work. The same thing
happened. Does this mean that the system cannot be installed on 386SX
or ESDI drive? If it is because of the harddrive, can I patch the
boot disk to make it work with the ESDI drive and how? Thank you.
