Subject: Software config of SMC Elite 16 adapters?

Has anyone figured out how to obtain/set the configuration of the SMC Elite
16 series of EtherNet adapters when they are jumpered for software
configuration? The probe in FreeBSD fails to find these boards unless they
are set to the values for ed0 or ed1, neither set of which are settable via
jumpers. The two jumper settable configs are:

port 0x280 irq 3 maddr 0xD0000 or
port 0x300 irq 10 maddr 0xCC000

Using the SMC supplied DOS program EZStart, I determined that my card was
set to:

port 0x240 irq 10 maddr 0xC00000

and have built a kernel (thank you Poul for the kerndist!!) with the ed0
device preset to these values. It would be nice if probe could find these
values and configure ed0 itself.
