If I were selling Solaris 2.4 x86, I would withdraw it from the market from embarassment. I once heard Scott McNealy quip that Windows NT was "Not There" -- IMHO, neither is Solaris 2.4 x86. It's not clear where this thread has gone, but I would not recommend Solaris 2.4 x86 as a UNIX for any PC. John Caywood, wine drinker and vi bigot
