UW1.1 does not. UnixWare has strcasecmp() in /usr/ucblib/libucb.a, please keep your facts straight. oh, _great_. just hid what should be in libc in a totally broken library. you expect anyone to trust libucb ? you expect everyone to know how to link with libucb properly ? We provide an R5 server on xserver@summit.novell.com. There are several third party X servers such as Metrolink and X inside, though I believe that UnixWare's is excellent. I do know that our bench mark numbers are some of the best. Kumar periodically posts X benchmarks for various cards here. I would use this info for a source of comparison. In terms of extensions that is many of the third parties claims to fame. but your `standard' x server is not R5, right? |> A real xterm. The "xterm" with unixware is a very sad joke. AGREED! I happen to use the MIT xterm from ftp.novell.com. .. another non standard requirement for working x ? |> Working man pages: |> Source for man pages is EXTRA in uw1.1?? Come ON. And the |> apropos/whatis stuff is useless without it. There is a fix for the whatis stuff. Though, I tend to use the new dynatext browser in UnixWare 2.0 for manuals. I happen to mostly use the solaris manual pages are just as broken as anything else i've ever seen. you need to use 'man -s sect manual' to get at a specific section. `catman' (makewhatis, etc) is so broken it leaves whatis fiels that break manual lookups so much that man becomes unusbale until you remove it. the X environment. I know some people are still character based. Their opinions need to be kept in mind. yay! someone who realises this. _don't_ for get it, please. We have catman pages as well, that just prevents the nroff processing. it's nice having manual source so i can go % groff -Tps -man foo.1 | lp and get a nice printed version. mind you, i hate solaris with a passion [*] .mrg. [*] like a lot of computer things.
