FWIW, it depends on the system.  The PowerMac 8100/110 is (right now) the
fastest personal system out there as far as i know.  I wouldn't be
surprised to find out future Macs (and Mac clones) based on PowerPC pulled
the same or better numbers.  Of course, that 110mHz baby's gonna rip a
massive hole in yer wallet; MSRP is over US$6,000 for a system that eats
Pentiums for breakfast on the weekdays and rolls 'em up and smokes 'em on
the weekends.  One configuration: 16MB RAM, 2 gig hard drive. Keyboard and
monitor not included.  

Thinking somewhat enviously about my measly 66mHz 7100...
