Does anyone know of a cheap (<$1000) or free *NIX varient that
runs on IBM RS6000's? Due to some squabbles with IBM, our school
will not be renewing a license IBM claims includes AIX. As a result
IBM wants to "wipe" the drives on our machines. Essentially, IBM
is saying, "pay us $9000/yr, or you lose the ability to use your
machines."
Any help finding an affordable replacement to AIX would be greatly
appreciated. Help us fight the big blue monster!
