How many years was it until the first BSD system did anything for UNIX? What is left to deal with? From what I've seen of UNIX it basicly has everything...Linux might be lacking behind SunOS, BSD (pick a version), and other "older" version of UNIX. Give it time...Geesh...New things don't just happen over night. From what I've seen Linus and the gang have done a REALLY good job on the kernel, and the fokes at Slackware have done a good job at putting together a distribution...(Even if I think it needs to be cleaned up a bit..) It's hard to "break new ground" in the UNIX area when you're still playing catchup with everyone else. That's just my 2 cent...Anyone care to flame me..Be my guest...Just leave it in the Newgroups!! =) --- I'm a Linux 1.1.72 kernel user with a 2.1.0 slackware distribution user and I'm REALLY happy about it!
