[ I'm just arguing 'cuz it's fun to do. If you want to run BSD, run
BSD. If you want to run Linux, run Linux. There's a big market for
both OS'es. So don't have a cow. -russ]

So Doom is part of Linux now? Come on! Linux had nothing to do with
it. There's nothing special about Linux that makes Doom run on it,
except some guy at iD thought it would be cool to port it to his
 Linux box.

Duh. ddt said that he did it because Linux was cool, not
because it was a cool thing to do.

Besides, Linux isn't the only "UN*X" to run Doom.

Yeah, and how many people have NeXT boxen? Yggdrasil is selling Linux
CD-ROMs at 10K/month. Given that they're doing quarterly CD-ROMs,
that's at least 30K users, and that's just one distribution (which I
happen to not be running, so we know it's 30001 users at least).

Linux brings us the tri-weekly kernel patch! (You "tri" it
and your computer is broken for a week! :)

Isn't it a good idea to have the option? If I use BSD or any
proprietary Unix, weekly patches simply aren't an option. If you
don't like them, don't use them.
