Hi

Well I'm having exactly the same problem with my internal modem
card. I looked at the source code for the sio driver but couldn't
see any obvious problems with it. It seems to me that the hardware on
my modem is not supplying the correct answers to the probe device test
that the driver performs (The chip on my card is a WD16C450). 

I'd also appreciate it if anyone else has some ideas on how to fix
this.
