As you probably noticed, the installation mechanism is going through some radical changes. However, due to these changes some of the previous functionality didn't quite make it. The newer installation floppies have fixed most of these bugs, so hopefully newer installations shouldn't have the same problems. In the meantime, you can do this command to extract the bindist (you may see errors ) # cd / # cat /usr/bindist/bin_tgz.* | tar zxpvf - [ chug chug chug ] Assuming that /usr/bindist is the directory where the files exist.
