This is correct fro FreeBSD 1.1.x.x For 2.0 and later the command is :
mount -t cd9660 /dev/mcd0a /cdrom
This bit me trying to build kermit on FreeBSD 2.0 so I could get SLIP
running so I could get the man pages from the net...
