Here's one that uses a geometry Fujitsu recommends. Note that the cylinder count is greater than the physical - evidently it is more important that the head and sectors/track count stay correct. The swap is figured for if you want to run X with 8 MB RAM. If you want to change this configuration, keep in mind that the root and usr partition sizes must be a multiple of 16 (the cpg value for ba#8192). The product nt * ns * nc must not exceed 1015812 - the number of sectors that you are allowed to use (you can use more, but then you defeat the disks spare sector remapping). The pc: and pd: values must reflect your 386BSD and whole disk sizes, respectively. Finally, if you use the disk under DOS, you will notice that it only sees 496 cylinders. This is actually the geometry I use on my SCSI disk (M2624FA), but this evidently won't work with IDE. The problem is that 386BSD disables IDE sector translation which makes this possible. -Andrew Moore <alm@netcom.com> To extract: $ uudecode <saved.mail ---- Cut Here ---- begin 644 m2624.dt M(R!R;V]T('!A<G1I=&EO;CH@,S(@0WEL("@Q,2XS."!-0BD*(R!S=V%P('!A M<G1I=&EO;CH@-34@0WEL("@Q.2XU-2!-0BD*(R!U<V5R('!A<G1I=&EO;CH@ M,3,W-B!#>6P@*#0X.2XQ-R!-0BD*9G5J:3(V,C1\1G5J:71S=2!-,C8R-'Q& M=6II='-U(#4R,"XQ($U".EP*"3ID=#U)1$4Z='D]=VEN8VAE<W1E<CIS92,U M,3(Z;G0C-C,Z;G,C,3$Z;F,C,30V,SI<"@DZ<&$C,C(Q-S8Z;V$C,#IB82,X M,3DR.F9A(S$P,C0Z=&$]-"XR0E-$.EP*"3IP8B,S.#$Q-3IO8B,R,C$W-CIT M8CUS=V%P.EP*("`@("`@("`Z<&,C,3`Q,S@U.3IO8R,P.EP*"3IP9",Q,#$S M.#4Y.F]D(S`Z7`H).G!G(SDU,S4V.#IO9R,V,#(Y,3IB9R,X,3DR.F9G(S$P ..,C0Z=&<]-"XR0E-$.@IG ` end
