Date: 20 Dec 1994 16:45:23 GMT Organization: Home, Blacksburg, Virginia Lines: 24 Distribution: world Message-ID: <3d71n3$2hp@solaris.cc.vt.edu> NNTP-Posting-Host: puma.bevd.blacksburg.va.us I am considering adding an Intel-/PC-clone to my collection of hardware and was wondering what experiences anyone might have had with a setup like the following (low budget, concerned w/ performance ;-): AMD DX2/80 motherboard, pentium upgradable PCI/VLB/ISA NCR-based PCI scsi PCI ethernet herc video (reuse old equipment & login over local network) I'd like the PCI cards so I can reuse them when I get a PCI-bussed PowerPC later. Primary applications would be compiling/software development stuff. Perhaps boot/file services... Comments/suggestions? (e-mail preferred, but of course I'll scan the newsgroup, too ;-) Thanks, -allen -- Allen Briggs - end killing - allen.briggs@vt.edu ** MacBSD == NetBSD/Mac **
