Thanks for the info of the -c. I was not clear on that and had been trying to type '/kernel -c' at the boot: prompt and the system wouldn't accept it and just froze. Finally I tried just entering '-c' and it worked fine, set the config and continued on. However I still get the timeouts when reading the CD-ROM and am unable to build the system.
