I do not know about the sun3 port. The 4/330 support is well under way, and 4/260 is getting there. Last I heard (maybe ten days ago) the 4/260 was booting diskless off the intel ethernet interface (multiuser). Rumor was that there would be support for a generic kernel that would boot both sun4 and sun4c architectures (something that Sun never released to my knowledge). I recommend that you go look at the mailing list archives for the port-sparc and port-sun3 lists via gopher on sun-lamp.cs.berkeley.edu.
