I have a dell 486D/50 (ISA slots) with a 3Com 3C503 configured to use IRQ 5, IO mem 280, mem d8000, which I believe to be correct for the default kernel with FreeBSD 2.0. I cannot get this to work with the AUI port, using any of the flags listed below: llc0 - specified in FreeBSD 1.0 instructions altphys - specified in FreeBSD 2.0 instructions link1 - specified in the online manuals at cdrom.com In most cases, the error message is ed0: device timeout, which should indicate IRQ clashes but I've been through all of that and we are not getting them. I must admit, I am not sure if the BNC port is working either - we are not equipped for this at the moment. Any ideas ? Many thanks, Steve
