Just to note, the FreeBSD Project team does not endorse this CDROM. We were never even informed that plans for one were in the offing, which is sort of strange, but no matter. We neither stand in its way or behind it, having absolutely no idea what's really on it! I also caution the producers against calling this "The FreeBSD 2.0 UNIX CDROM" since the word UNIX is a trademark of X/Open, and misusing it is a good way of getting your ass sued off. FreeBSD is not UNIX, it hasn't paid for the right to use the trademark, it's a "UNIX work-alike" if you want to call it anything remotely close to UNIX and still remain on fairly firm legal ground. Finally, InfoPlus or anyone else considering a FreeBSD CDROM should know that the title "The FreeBSD CDROM" is a trademark of Walnut Creek CDROM, a trademark the project team is more than willing to endorse given the amount of support that Walnut Creek has put into FreeBSD (take my word for it, it's been phenominal and completely above and beyond the call of duty). I'm not trying to come off as a hard-ass here, really. As a FreeBSD person, I'm happy to see people doing CDs and spreading the gospel (as a Walnut Creek person I have to be a little bit more mercenary, but.. :-), and I do a fairly good job of keeping my "hats" separate. The independant CD publishers don't have to worry about me suddently turning on them like a rabid mongrel, but I do have to caution them about the terminology they use and any trademarks they inadvertantly infringe in their quest for an attractive marketing position. That's all.. Jordan
