HELP! Date: 29 Dec 1994 02:14:14 GMT Organization: Prentice Centre, University of Queensland Lines: 30 Message-ID: <3dt61m$g6v@bunyip.cc.uq.oz.au> NNTP-Posting-Host: brolga.cc.uq.oz.au X-Newsreader: TIN [version 1.2 PL2] Just wondering if there is some major problems with the adaptec 1542C/CF and netbsd-1.0 ... btw: this only started after I added the scsi portion of the system reason being is that I have just installed an aha1542CF and a DEC RZ25e SCSI-2 drive and my netbsd system (that was running 1.0 on wd0) is falling over left, right and centre.. sometimes even /sbin/sh core dumps while logging in as root thus allowing me to not log in... not just that but it core dumps for no reason whatever.. etc.. I try to do an 'ls -l' and it dumps on me... I try again straight away and it works.. same thing happens for almost anything.. seem to get lots of kernel panics for no reason... etc I start an ftp and ^Z and bg and kernel panic... either ffs_valloc or some other ffs error and sometimes it has cored while starting system logger.... anyway enough of probs.. they're everywhere and I was wondering if this is a common prob with the AHA kernel or if it is a prob I am having with my machine or what.. suggestions welcome... thanks.. -James
