I'll try again. I've a Pentium with an Eagle Technologies NE2000plus 10BaseT Ethernet card. When I tried to install FreeBSD 2.0R on this machine, I was able to load the kernel and ifconfig the NE2000, but once this was done, the TCP/IP was very flakey. For example, I could TELNET to another host on my network and get a "connected" message from my TELNET client, but I wasn't able to log in to the host. Similiarly, I could TELNET to a service port (such as SMTP or FTP) of a host and get a welcome message, but I wasn't able to get anywhere from that point. Pinging works fine, DNS does not. I know at least on other person out there has experienced this. Anybody know the solution? Any help is appreciated!! -- Jacques Vidrine | "Listen, this old system of yours could be on fire and Communique, Inc. | I couldn't even turn on the kitchen tap without filling nectar@communique.net | out a 27b/6 ... bloody paperwork." - Harry Tuttle
