I ran into a problem in converting a PostScript image to a gif(tm) format using GhostScript(1) interpreter. Though the interpreter handles resolution correctly in most occasions, its `gifmono' driver falsely assumes a fixed dpi regardless of what it runs on. So I decided to supply the correct resolution for my hardware by directly modifying the source. However, I don't know how to figure it out. [environment] * XFree86-2.1.1 (SVGA) * FreeBSD-1.1.5.1 I (vaguely) recall that there was a short program which estimated an approximate resolution of my display by some hints it gathered from the X server (?) and printed physical dimensions of the display, scan rates, and the resolution. I thought it was a small utility that came along some other application, but not distributed solely by itself. Does anyone out there know a program which does just that? Any info will be appreciated. Thanks! Regards, junichi -- Junichi Kurokawa Image and Printing System Products Development Center Fuji Xerox Co., Ltd.
