This might be a good time to point out that X11R6 is a standard part of the Slackware Linux distribution, as are gcc/g++/emacs/gdb, full networking, and the whole set of traditional UNIX tools - Yes, with enough time, money and effort, you could evantually make NT act something like linux, but it would be much slower on the same hardware, and the cost would be astronomical! The only real win for NT is the legacy apps that everyone uses - Word, excel, etc... But even that monopoly is fading quickly. (Personally, I have no use for MS-word, being quite satisfied with vi/emacs, LaTeX, & dvips, but if that's what turns you on, that's OK too.) jjs -- jjs@wintermute.ucr.edu / You can't figure out how to A linux machine! because a 486 / ACCELERATE your Windoze NT box? is a terrible thing to waste! / -9.8 m/s^2 works quite well!!!
