In trying to do the install, I'm noting a lot of these messages.
In using the source, I see that this is caused by the CERR bit in
the AM7990 register. What's this bit mean?

The card is a surplus unit I picked up really cheap, so I may be
getting what I paid for, but I'd at least like to know what this
means.
