After playing around with Linux for several months, I thought I'd give
FreeBSD a spin. However, while trying to install FreeBSD from a CD-ROM, I
cannot get the kernel on the boot disk to recognize my cdrom. The drive
is a media vision scsi drive running off a sound card. The scsi driver is
a Future Domain 8xx which is supposed to be supported by FreeBSD.

When I do the kernel -c option during boot up, I don't see /dev/cd0a
listed among the devices. Then, when I run the setup program, I get a
message saying that /dev/cd0a does not exist or something. However, a ls
of /dev shows that there is a cd0a in theres.

Any suggestions about what to do?

All help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks,

Jeff
