After getting some initial hints from David Greenman (thanks!), i've done this for our network server, a 64 MB machine. It's now using 36 MB of buffer cache, and runs very stable (still 1.1.5.1 system, this is a production environment). It beats even SGI Indys in some areas, especially when the number of users is growing. If someone needs the hints, i can mail them. -- cheers, J"org work: --- no longer --- private: joerg_wunsch@uriah.sax.de Never trust an operating system you don't have sources for. ;-)
