Get the FreeBSD boot floppy and READ the Infos in the friendly menue.
Advantages:

	o you see the friendly installation
	o the info is nice

It depends strongly, what you want to install ...
The distrib is split up into source and binary installation.
The bindist is split up into some other packages. Don't have
the numbers handy. I think you can start with 80 MB incl. swap
if you don't need something special as sources and X11 ...
