UCLA Extension will present the short course, "UNIX Kernel Internals",
March 6-10, 1995, on the UCLA campus in Los Angeles.

The instructors will be Dr. Marshall Kirk McKusick, independent consultant,
and Mr. Michael J. Karels, system architect, BSDI.

The course presents a broad overview of how the UNIX kernel provides
its basic services. Topics to be covered include kernel resource management,
kernel I/O structure, file system overview, system tuning, interprocess
communication, networking structure, network management issues, and network
internals.

Each participant will receive the text, "The Design and Implementation of the
4.3 BSD UNIX Operating System" and extensive course notes.
