It's kinda a whole new install, really.  You can upgrade in place with some
skill and a little luck, and I know a number of people who have done this
(including myself), but it's definitely not the recommended procedure.

So much has changed (and our upgrade procedures are so non-existent! :-)
that it's really just better if you back up your user data and reinstall
the system from scratch.
