I am trying to load the bin.dist from a 60M tape. I have a 386-25, Wangtek QIC-36 controller, Wangtek QIC-02 tapedrive, DC600A tapes. I am using cgd's two-drive boot floppy. The fixit disk yields the same error. I tried to write a file to the tape and read it back, that worked fine, so I am assuming that the tape drive I wrote the bin.dist with is not compatable. Ug. Back to the drawing board... But, anyway, what does this error mean? I got the same error from 'cpio < /dev/rwt0' and 'dd if=/dev/rwt0', so I think it comes from the device driver. Also, thanks to everyone who helped my get my tape drive working. The "obvious" answer and the answer I got from Wangtek both failed, if it had not been for the net, I would still be tearing my hair out. ----------------------->"Lay on, McDuff, 14th c. ideals in a 21st c. world David Paigen and damn'd be he N: PLO Bush IRA CIA KKK TRW Financial Systems who first cries, S: terrorism pipe bomb kill paigen@tfs.com 'hold, enough!'"
