More surplus purchases. :-)

Got a Media Vision ProSonic MCD.

1. If I boot into DOS, then boot into BSD, it sees this:
snd1 at 0x388 on isa
snd1: <Yamaha 2-OP FM>
snd2 at 0x220 irq 5 drq 1 on isa
snd2: <SoundBlaster Pro 3.1>

I've been using the SNDCTL_DSP ioctls to play with it.
GETFMTS returns 0x8, which, according to <machine/soundcard.h>
means it supports Unsigned 8 and nothing else. That result doesn't
make much sense, since experimentation has shown that MU_LAW
works also. So shouldn't GETFMTS be returning 9? And why are
none of the 16 bit formats available? I have played 44 kHz
16 bit stereo .WAV files under DOS with no trouble.

If I cold-boot the machine, the sound card doesn't even show up.
The DOS PROS.SYS file aparently sets up the hardware. Is there
any support for this card other than asking DOS to make it emulate
a sound blaster?
