OS/2, SCO UNIX, DOS, WINDOWS, NETWARE and other OS's have been throughly tested at Compaq on *all* Compaq machines. : 2) What's EISA and how does it differ, can it get in the way? EISA = Extended Industry Standard Architecture. Or, real fast expansion bus. : 3) its comes as a desk top and I wanted a tower, how hard would : it be to pull the system out and put it into a tower? This is not possible, as the system board will not fit a clone chassis. : 4) The Video card is a Qvision 2000 supports 1280x1024 256 colors : 2meg Vram. How does this work with the above OSs, and : is it upgradable to 4 meg? All of the above OS's are supported to the maximum video resolution attainable using the Qvision 2000. Yes you can upgrade it. : 5) The Monitor is Compaq Qvision 172 17" monitor. : Who was the OEM and what's the refresh rate at 1280? I don't know, don't have the specs in front of me, wait, let me check real quick......ok.... 31.5 - 82.0 Hz / 50.0 - 90 Vt. : 6) It's got the old pentium, does this machine have a Zif socket for : simple swapping! That processor board uses 5 volt technology. However, you can upgrade the processor board without having to buy a whole new system. RokNroB Usual Disclaimer -> "Yeap, I said it."
